2. Mohair drawings
Large scale installations such as ‘Aire - Wave’ or ‘Study in RED’ explore, transform and redefine space. They invite to walk around, see through and experience the space.

Vacant Space seems to lend itself to this kind of site-specific work.
____
3. Nylon drawings
Nylon-thread is barely visible but it catches and reflects light. I have been working with this phenomenon, illuminating cross-sections/slices of bundled nylon threads with LED.

I'd like to take this kind of work from sculpture to room spanning installation, playing with chaotic and/or organised formations of nylon thread drawings, illuminating sections of these drawings, possibly with a wandering light (suspended as pendulum or set on a turntable).

4. Liquid Light
An interactive water-light installation, that has been installed at the RED gallery, Hull, in 2016.

The video shows projections of dripping water on sheet one to four and then the entire installation.
This installation wants to be taken further: try different kind of light sources, play with the arrangement of drafting films on to which the water ripples are projected and explore various ways to ripple the water surface, including sound - in co-operation with a sound artist.

5. Buoy Fr-Agile (Projection on curved screen)*

Two video sculptures have been the result of a residency on Spurn Point, 'Seascape' and 'Buoy'. While the former has been installed numerous times, 'Buoy' is waiting to be shown again. I plan to rebuild the existing screen - made with a less ideal thread - with the appropriate silk-thread. Vacant Space could provide a great temporary studio for this purpose and maybe could work as an exhibition space as well.

6. Imagine (working title)
A new 'projection on curved screen', working as the counterpart of ‘Buoy’. While ‘Buoy’ features turbulent water and is projected near the ground, ‘Imagine’ will be a threaded screen installed above our heads, like a veil peeling off the ceiling, featuring footage of the sky. Jo Millett is the video artist who recorded the footage for the existing curved screens. I would like to ask her to record a sequence of sky.

7. The space itself and working in it will throw up new and unexpected possibilities. It may also be an opportunity to include new materials like plaster and concrete in my work something I have in mind for a while.

* Close-up footage of one of four yellow marker buoys** tossed about at Spurn Point by the incoming tide. Projected on a curved screen made of unwoven warp threads, the image first hits the threaded screen and then the wall behind it (thus you see the same buoy twice). The screens are rigged like sails but instead of wind they work with light.
** Spurn peninsula is slowly shifting westwards: the buoys marked the spot on the North Sea beach where the shoreline of the Humber estuary was located in 1850.
